If you want to experience by yourself how hundreds of years ago the Ikarians used to treat, behave, and share things with each other, then...maybe we have a place for you!

One of the most important reasons that contributed to the longevity of the Ikarians, was their strong social life.

Ages ago, the Ikarians used to walk for countless hours from one location to another, in order to meet their beloved friends and relatives...but when they managed to meet...the magical moments of sharing moments, and socialization were precious.

The long distance they had to walk never seemed to be a problem for them, and just as long as they achieved to meet and gather they were always helping and contributing one to another, from simple things...into heavy and difficult hard working matters.

That’s why the bonds that they were building with each other, were very strong, and when help was needed they figured out a way to share and contact this to the others.

So, for example, when they must have had extra working hands as assistance in order to build a house, help in the farm fields, but also offer volunteer jobs for the community...everybody was present!

After all, they knew that they had to help each other...as it was their own free will and choice to live on an island that was very far away from central ports and areas of Greece, and furthermore an island that was also difficult to be approached by any sea means of transport.

Today, we try to bring back and offer to you, the chance of bonding you into the community of Ikaria.

So, take off your jewelry, accessories, and put on daily clothes and shoes that you are not afraid to get dirty, because you are about to join our team.

We are going to VOLUNTARILY offer help, where help is needed, and we are going i.e. to paint the exterior of a church, clean with special tools hiking trails, get away all the plastics from the beach, paint school yards….so...will you come with us?

We always take/follow instructions and guidance, from the locals that stay on the village where the volunteer activity takes place,

BUT

the second good part of this day, is that after the job is done, we all sit together to have our “kolatsio time” (which means eat a full snack with local and traditional products that you can find in Ikaria), talk, eat and drink...like the Ikarians used to do for ages.

This may be a lifetime experience….and we would like you to join us!
